Day 1 | Tuesday, May 21st

Emily and Michaela are now in California! We are staying with Emily's Aunt Carole and Uncle Pooge who live near San Francisco. Today was our big day of travel, which was exiting for someone who's never flown before. Here are some pictures of what we did today.

Rise and shine: Michaela got up at 2:50am and Emily at 3:30am.

Addison (Michaela's sister) left this sweet good bye note on the kitchen table for us. Love you Addie!

Navigating the airport and getting through security was much simpler than we thought. Dad (Michaela's) brought us to Buffalo airport, helped check our bags in and then hugged us goodbye. We went through security and then grabbed some breakfast. We arrived at our gate with plenty of time to spare.

On our flight out from Buffalo Emily sat in the window seat and took these great pics.

We had a connecting flight in Chicago. Michaela sat near the window this time and enjoyed getting a bird's eye view of the Midwest! One spot in Illinois she counted at least 100 wind turbines. Being a farm girl, she noticed that in Nevada they have round fields instead of square! Also, flying over the Sierra Nevada Mountains was beautiful!

Aunt Carole and Uncle Pooge picked us up at the airport and whisked us away to an adorable ice cream shop called Fenton's where they make their own ice cream.

Afterwards, they took us home so we could unpack and recuperate from the trip and the 3 hour time change. All in all it was a pretty exciting day, but it's just the start to our awesome trip. Stay tuned for more!

  2. You guys. This is so totally exciting!! For some reason it makes me think of Taylor Swift's 'A Place in This World.' "I'm alone, on my own, and that's aaaall that I know..."

Well, something like that. ;) I forgot about that 3 hour time change. Talk about weird! Haha, you gals have a ton of fun, okay? :D

    Love ya,
    Emily
